Ethnic and primitive jewelry has always been a source of design inspiration for me. Lack of tools for mechanical precision and formal technique created approximate and imperfect pieces. Ethnic craft influenced the paired down essence of modernism and many of its art and design heros... Picasso, Brancusi, Calder, Noguchi, Hepworth, Lautner and others. The intersection of primitive and modern is the foundation of my aesthetic. This is my touchstone.
