In each new collection I build upon themes that are a constant in my work. Nature is an ongoing source of inspiration, as are different periods of ancient and historical jewelry. It is the marriage of these influences that results in an eclectic, free-range collection of studio jewelry. Each piece shows evidence of the artist’s hand and has meaning beyond simple adornment. I work with humble materials, and elevate the perception of their value through design and attention to fine detail. The limited edition collection is made in my studio in Dallas and is a collaborative effort with my talented staff. While my work defies category, it is at home with designer and fine luxury jewelry.
This quote from musician Brian Eno sums up my artistic process:
“People…often want to aim for the biggest, most obvious target, and hit it smack in the bull’s eye. Of course, with everyone else aiming there as well, that makes it very hard and expensive to hit. I prefer to shoot the arrow and paint the target around it. You make the niches in which you finally reside.”
