Throughout our lives, we collect stories to make sense of our experiences and relationships. We attach meaning to personal objects that become touchstones for our narrative. The Stories Collection is my “totem of memory” in the form of etched bronze shards. In this collection, male and female silhouettes and other symbols are filled with pattern, maps, webs, and flora that are my visual shorthand for home, family, and the creative process. This collection is inspired by the work of artists Louise Bourgeois and Joseph Cornell and writers Michael Chabon and Andre Aciman. They create work that is extremely personal, and yet the humanity in their art is universally relatable. Jewelry is an expression of our personal story.
