Cumulus Inspiration

Every week I muse on a theme that influences my work in some way. I follow up with a week of posting on Instagram and show the link it has to the pieces I put in the collection. In the past few years I have found myself constantly remarking about the unusual cloud formations and the colors. Either I was oblivious before or climate change is making some really good meteorological art. My friend, artist Sue Benner, travels the world teaching and photographs some of the most astonishing clouds on her nature walks. These natural palettes have become color inspiration for picking stones for necklaces and earrings for the last few seasons.

These are some of my favorites from @suebenner Instagram posts and one of my own photos from walking at the lake. Check out Instagram @juliecohndesign and this week to see the rest of the posts.
